Top Takeaways From Our Social Media Rockstars Panel

HOW DO YOU USE SOCIAL MEDIA TO ATTRACT CLIENTS AND CREATE ENGAGEMENT?

All of our panelists agreed, the “GRAM” is where it’s at! After experimenting with all social media platforms, our panelists found that their most successful results have come from Instagram and have focused all of their marketing energy to creating a content filled, interesting Instagram page.

Here are their tips for creating engagement:

BE SOCIAL - It’s called social media for a reason. Make sure you are giving as much as you expect to get. Like other peoples posts, comment, follow your target market’s accounts and don’t forget to congratulate them on their wins. They’ll be so grateful you did they may even follow you back.

GEO TAGGING - This is helpful to show clients where you are and where you have been. Providing a location for a post can give more context to your followers and allow them to be more drawn into the post. It can also create more of a connection to your followers who have been to that location or plans to go in the future.  Anything to spark a DM or real engagement can help to form a relationship with potential clients. Geo Tagging is also a great way to gain a new audience. ‘Gram users often search specific locations and tagging your location is another opportunity to gain new followers.

CALL TO ACTION - A call to action is your first opportunity for interaction. Whether you ask a question or direct them to a link, it is vital to to urge your readers to interact with your post and take an immediate action.

SHOULD I HAVE 1 SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNT OR 2?

Our panelists recommended that you have one social media platform. It’s very hard and time consuming to commit to 2 accounts. They have found that you will more often than not, neglect one account. An important note to remember: when using your account both personally and professionally, make sure to keep the content business appropriate.

They suggest following the 80/20 rule. 80% personal and 20% business. By combining your two accounts your audience will get to see the real you 80% of the time and then be more excited to see you in the business side of things 20% of the time. By following this rule your audience will feel more connected to you, more pleased when seeing your professional posts and more engaged, turning your audience into potential clients.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO USE INSTAGRAM STORIES?

Instagram stories are a fun way to connect with your followers. It can give them more of a behind the scenes look into your business and give them a chance to connect with you on a more personal level. Some panelists would take videos and wait to post them when they go home to “make them more on brand” and more esthetically pleasing.  While other panelists loved doing their  stories right on the spot. They felt more authentic and mentioned that their followers now look forward to seeing all the things that happen to them during the day. Which ever way resonates with you, just be sure to pick one and do it. Now a days, we don’t even have to worry about how we look on camera because u know “there’s a filter for that!”
