about LAUREN

I'm South African born and have called South Florida my home for about 12 years. I have been creating photographs since 2002. I absolutely LOVE the outdoors, I love different cultures, traveling to far off and even close by places and experiencing new things.

Let's get to know Lauren ...

While I have had the pleasure of working with many great companies my sole goal is to be a passionate, inspirational and life-changing photographer for others coupled with my other talents. My photography captures the essence of my subject and aims to be impactful.

As a trained war photo-journalist with tons of business skills, I used these skill sets to create a brand that creates beautiful imagery in a unique way. We offer amazing branding photography with creative direction, editorial photography, stunning family photography, personal photography, unique weddings, and much more.

I love to travel for my work, often to places others don't go, and have had the pleasure of documenting some amazing people and places.

What are your hobbies, interests and passions?

I absolutely LOVE the outdoors, I love different cultures, traveling to far off and even close by places and experiencing new things.

I love good food and have a great interest in my own personal health after suffering a mystery illness for 3 years.

What does your typical day look like?

I wake up. Put on my Reiki and spend some time in meditation taking care of the days doings. If I'm not off to a morning shoot, you'll find me either in the office taking care of business or connecting in fun meetings with fun people.

What quote do you live by?

"If you say you can, you're right. If you say you can't, you're right." ~ Albert Einstein

What motivates you as an entrepreneur?

Growing and stepping up to meet my set goals is something that motivates me to keep journeying into the world of entrepreneurship.

I don't see fear as a red light. I have learned to see fear simply as obstacles, that I have the resources to get around.

What is the best advice you were given when starting your business?

When I was in photography college, one of my professors, Martin, said to me after a pretty harsh critical feedback session (they didn't hold back)

"Just keep going Lauren, consistency breeds success." There is so much truth to this statement applied to so many areas of a business and it has certainly proven to be true to me.

What is your definition of success?

Success is such a personal definition, I would say that as long as you're moving, doing your best, and you're open to looking at yourself and learning always, you are in a state of success.

What do you want to achieve in the upcoming year personally & professionally ?

I really want to expand my business into the branding world so that I can impart my skills and knowledge onto others to help them achieve the fabulous goals they've set for themselves.

I am also really excited to have a space where I can meet clients, fellow entrepreneurs and some truly magical women.

How do you want to use you're strength to give back to the community?

We are ALL about giving back. As a fully trained photojournalist who spends tons of time traveling the world for charity, I still give back to my communities.

I spend a great deal of time with a charity called Project Change in Davie. I offer my photography skills up to them gratis for their galas, and recently accompanied them on their yearly trip to Uganda. Money from this exhibition to be returned to Project Change. I also raise money on this charity's behalf. In my local communities I offer my photography skills to local charities at discounted rates, allow the free use of the images for advertising and give back a % of my own company to my chosen charity Project Change.

What is the biggest challenge you have in your business?

I service a the large area between Miami and West Palm beach and thus my biggest challenge has been having a beautiful meeting space where I can bring my clients. Yay for the Emery!

Also with their being so many networking groups, I often feel a little overwhelmed by which to choose and which is right for me and my business.

Why did you decide to join The Emery?

I love the idea of women working together. I encourage all my female friends and support them as much as possible.

There's something energetically wonderful about being in a beautiful space, with beautiful people, who do beautiful things. :)

My main goal is to grow our brand, our company, and help others do the same.
