about ANGIE

I was born in Colombia and made in the USA. I believe that women will change the world, and they need great brands to do it. After all, the best brands are like fascinating women: beautiful, inspiring, well-traveled, and adventurous at heart. Wouldn't you agree? Therefore, I've build a business that encompasses everything that I'm passionate about. Travel, design, philanthropy and girl power are the pillars upon which I've built my business. Through Catch My Drift Design Co. I offer global brands, inspired by travel and driven by purpose. I love Nutella and salami sandwiches and will defend them with conviction. Don't say no until you've try it!

What quote do you live by?

If Oreos are milk’s best friend then I should be allowed to the eat them for breakfast.

What are your hobbies, interests and passions?

My heart is at Fundación Amigos Del Mar in Colombia, where I spend most of my efforts doing everything I can to support kids education in the island of Tierra Bomba. When I'm not at the foundation, I'm collecting passport stamps, eating and drinking my way through different countries, which is where I find most of my inspiration.

What does your typical day look like?

My day starts with a cup of coffee in bed, followed by 15 minutes of journaling. The rest of day I spent doing design work. I take 15 minute breaks here and there to play with my puppies and cuddle with my kitty cats. Nights, I dedicate to my fiancé and nice glass of wine.

What motivates you?

The power of creating something that wasn't there before and the high I get from the feeling of accomplishment.

What is the best advice you were given?

Whether I believe I can or can't, I'll always be right.

What is your definition of success?

Enjoying my work, my life and myself.

What do you want to achieve in the upcoming year personally & professionally ?

In addition to growing my design business X2, I'm aiming to establish myself as an educator for female designers that want to transition into the laptop lifestyle and entrepreneurship.

How do you want to use you're strength to give back to the community?

By sharing my business and design knowledge. I'd also be happy to offer free design consults to the members.

What is the biggest challenge you have in your business?

I can be incredibly shy sometimes, which can get in the way of new opportunities.

Why did you decide to join The Emery?

Because I believe in the power of community and women with drive. Also, to work on that shyness thing.
