"Today is the beginning of whatever you want"

I'm 25 years old & am currently in the publishing processes for my first book: Tender Bruises. It's a book of short poems and pros of the pain that sometimes comes with life & loving but, as you read through, you're taught that it will always get better. my future dreams & goals is to do more volunteer work with animal shelters to help make a difference and hopefully change the number of stray dogs & cats in miami.I am proud of myself for never giving up on my book even when the writing didn't always feel like it was healing.

What are your hobbies, interests or passions?

Anything outdoors! I love being active and feeling productive. writing is one of my main hobbies and I'm passionate about being an animal activist.

How do you kick start your day?

An early morning workout. its the best. better than coffee, better than a cold shower. I clear my mind, sweat out the bad stuff and get started before most people wake up.

What motivates you as an entrepreneur?

Finding things that inspire me, whether it be fellow artists, writers, etc. also podcasts, they've become my new radio station.

What is the best advice you were given when starting your business?

Being told that no one and nothing is ever perfect, even the finished product.

What is your definition of success?

taking the risks that stand in the way of your dreams. even if you don't make it, I think that doing things that overcome a fear of yours, you've succeeded.

What do you want to achieve in the upcoming year personally & professionally ?

Personally: to stop being afraid of what others think of my work.

Professionally: do a TedTalk!

How do you want to use you're strength to give back to the community?

As a woman I want to always be a cheerleader to other women living their dreams and fulfilling their goals. I think thats really important.

Why did you decide to join The Emery?

I want to be a part of a strong foundation of women helping women!
